More interesting facts and information about diamond trilogy rings.....

Diamond trilogy rings are also known as trinity rings and three stone rings. They are most popularly sold as engagement and anniversary rings as the three stones represent the past, present and future of a relationship. It is the perfect gift to symbolise the endurance of your love for someone and tells them “I will love you now and forever” over and over again.

They are of Celtic origin and were created and used to depict life as a multi-faceted continuum, with the interconnecting lines that go round the ring symbolizing eternal life and the intricate relationship of humanity with natural and divine powers. More simplistically, the interlaced lines also represent the way in which the lives of the bride and groom will be eternally intertwined.

Originally these rings were not made with gemstones but instead featured a knot in the centre. There were two types: the Trinity knot and the Lovers` Knot.

The Trinity Knot had three interwoven strands representing the Father, Son and Holy Spirit of the Christian Faith. It is often carved on Irish high crosses or pages of illuminated manuscripts such as the Book of Kells (a hand decorated book of the Four Gospels and one of Ireland’s national treasures). The Lovers’ Knot depicted two together as one (intertwined infinity symbols).

The three stone trilogy ring follows the same principle, but with three interwoven diamonds instead of strands of precious metal. It can be less expensive than a solitaire diamond ring of similar quality, as there is a huge difference in price between single diamond weighing three carats and three smaller stones totalling the same weight.

A trilogy ring also offers you more choice on the cuts of the diamonds. For example, the cuts of the two side stones can be different from the one in the centre. The side stones can also be smaller. Whatever you decide as the best combination, the recipient is sure to love this gift which is a true token of your love and affection.
